OPENINGS TO SECOND ON THE REFORMER.

This video shows the “Opening to Second”, on the Reformer, with the teacher facilitating the stretch.

The first two repetitions are without support from the teacher.

The next three show variations of stretching with the teacher assisting.

In between each repetition the teacher facilitates relaxation in the hip joints.

The sequence finishes with a back stretch.

Openings are good for the physical well being of people all ages and walks of life.

The stretches are performed without forcing, or pushing, but rather through a sense of surrendering to the stretch and by utilising the out breath.

As we age we tend to get stiffer and this can lead to back aches.

It is good to maintain a balance between body tone and vitality and flexibility.

This is an intermediate exercise and assumes a good basic knowledge of body awareness and technique.

I apologise for the very noisy crickets that are in my garden in the summer!
